"Journey Home" captures the Christmas spirit of the American homestead at the turn of the century. Michael Allen Harrison did this recording at home on his 1898 upright Steinway piano, and used authentic instruments of the period including harmonium and the hammered dulcimer. Tim Ellis plays on several different acoustic guitars and mandolin, Lex Browning on violin, Phil Baker on acoustic bass, and Alan deLay on the musical saw.
Betty Woods Gimarelli has been designing and producing 24K gold-plated limited edition Portland Ornaments (TM) since 1989. Portland. Oregon's "Simon Benson House" was built in the late 1800's by Pacific Northwest logging king and one of the great public benefactors of Portland, Simon Benson. The original house was built at SW 11th and Clay, remained there for 100 years, and was moved in 1998 to its current location on the campus of Portland State University at 1803 SW Park. The Historic Simon Benson House has been completely renovated to its original splendor and is open to the public.
